Hand-painted, shiny novelty ribbon yarn in Peridot (soft olives/bronze-greens)
Knittique is now in its second year of producing exclusive, limited-edition hand-painted yarns, and this shining ribbon yarn is one of the novelty textures I specialize in!
This vibrant colorway, Peridot, is August's entry into my Birthstone Collection. It showcases many subtle variations of Peridot's characteristic light, bright, golden greens (somewhere between lime and grass), sparked with accents of luminous bronze-gold. Gorgeous!
For a softer version of this palette, take a look at this alpaca/silk yarn in Muted Peridot.

PROJECT IDEAS: Ribbon yarns are incredibly versatile. You can knit with them; I particularly like drop-stitch patterns for ribbon scarves, and you can also knit them more tightly to make little bags. Crochet a trim for a pillow, incorporate ribbon pieces into scrapbook or card-making projects, make jewelry, or just use it for uniquely beautiful gift-wrapping!
One of my favorite things to do with ribbon yarns is to use them for fringe; this is especially effective when you combine a strand of ribbon with a strand of something else (my fave: hand-painted mohair) in your fringe.
