This subtly dramatic colorway, Black Opal, is the October addition to my Birthstone Collection. Like this beautiful gemstone, this skein features greens, blues, golds, and wine-reds showing through a semi-transparent overlay of deep purply-black. And the yarn itself is super-light and airy, a pleasure to knit as you watch the colors appear through the mohair halo. Gorgeous!

Care: Hand wash in cool water with mild detergent. Rinse in cool water, and gently squeeze out excess water. Lay on towels or drying rack to air-dry. Shake to fluff a little, if desired.
PROJECT IDEAS: Clearly, this beautiful lace-weight yarn can be made into lace! Just 1 skein should be enough for at least a shawlette, or maybe a really luxurious scarf. And since mohair gives us the luxury of a variety of needle sizes, 1 of these enormous skeins might even be enough for a simple sweater!
And because this yarn is so fine, you could also think about combining it with a strand of something else; I'm thinking a lace-weight hand-painted wool, perhaps in deep teal tones, would be fantastic combined with this mohair!
