For the first time, Knittique knitwear samples are available from Colormusing! These are one-of-a-kind pieces, made during the development of my original patterns, using Knittique's own Scraplet Skeins, for truly unique accessories that will express your individualist style.

Sample pricing: Since this piece has been worn occasionally by models (including Lola the Mannequin), and tried on in yarn stores during trunk shows, we are offering this sample at a very special price— but remember that we only have one!
The Lacy Summer Poncho in Hot Poppy: This versatile poncho is perfect for summertime! In addition to the hothouse hues and openwork stitch, it's also surprisingly lightweight. The poncho is hand-knitted with a combination of 2 yarns; the main one is a shocking-pink multi-textured novelty with fringe-y bits and soft paper-like "flags", and the second yarn is a sparkly metallic eyelash in a blazing-hot poppy red color. (See the last 2 photos for details of the yarns and openwork stitch.) Both yarns are amazingly light and soft.
Size: The Hot Poppy Summer Poncho measures approximately 38" around the neck edge; measuring from the neck edge, the length to the longest points is approximately 19". Since it sits primarily on and around the shoulders, it should fit most people, especially considering the stretchiness of the openwork stitch. (The photos with Lola the Mannequin, who's a size 6, gives an idea how this fits on the body.)
Wearing: This poncho can be worn in many ways; I like it off one shoulder, as shown here, but it can also be pinned to lie closer to the neck if desired.
Materials: The novelty yarn is rayon/nylon; the metallic yarn is 100% nylon.
Care: Occasional hand-washing is good for these high-quality fibers; simply soak in cool water with Woolite (or any of the products made specifically for hand-knitted pieces), rinse gently in cool water, squeeze out as much water as possible without wringing, and lay flat to dry.
