The Entrelac Pillow in Fade to Black: This stunning pillow cover is hand-knitted with Knittique's Ombré Scraplet Skeins in a color called Fade to Black. The front of the pillow is worked in entrelac, an interesting technique that produces interlocking blocks that go in different directions.
The back of the pillow (2nd photo) is made with 2 separate panels that overlap, so you can easily remove the cover from the pillow form for laundering; there is no zipper. These panels are worked diagonally to echo the diagonal blocks on the entrelac side. (The overlap is also diagonal, rather than straight across.) The outside edges are finished with a fabulous crocheted ruffle!
With its substantial size, amazing textures, sparkly fibers, and unique construction, this pillow will quickly become the focal point in your room!
Size: This pillow cover is made to fit an 14" square pillow form; these are readily available at fabric and craft stores. Since it is knitted, it does have some give to it, so this cover will fit a 16" square pillow, if desired.
PLEASE NOTE that you are purchasing the pillow cover ONLY; if you would like to purchase the pillow cover plus the pillow form, please contact us to let us know, and we'll adjust the shipping charge before you place your order.
Materials: There are more than 24 different yarns in the Fade to Black pillow cover, including wool, mohair, silk, cotton, angora, rayon/viscose, bamboo, alpaca, nylon, acrylic, and polyester.
Care: Occasional hand-washing is good for these high-quality fibers; simply soak in cool water with a gentle detergent (or any of the products made specifically for hand-knitted pieces), rinse gently in cool water, squeeze out as much water as possible without wringing, and lay flat to dry, fluffing the ruffles occasionally as it dries.
Get this pattern: If you'd like to make your own Entrelac Pillow, the pattern is now available! And you can get the Fade to Black Scraplet Skeins colorway shown here, and plenty more beautiful colors available in the Knittique section.
