NEW! The Cold-Shoulder Capelets pattern includes instructions for 3 versions. Version 1, pictured here in Fiesta d'Espagna, features 2 "cold shoulders" and 2 bands that meet at center back and close in front with 1 large button. Version 2 (shown in Summer Haze) has a single "cold shoulder" and a wraparound "scarf" with optional decorative buttons. Version 3 has a small strap on 1 shoulder. Version 1 is knitted flat; Versions 2 and 3 are knitted in the round. All 3 have ribbed bodies and Mistake-Stitch ribbing for the contrast bands.

You need to know how to: Cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch, knit in the round (V. 2 & 3 only), bind off, sew a seam, add button(s), make button loop (V. 1 only).
Materials: All 3 versions call for 1 Scraplet Skein* (120 yds.). Coordinating yarn is used for each version; Version 1 needs about 200 yds. of heavy worsted-weight yarn (sample uses 2 balls of Classic Elite's "Waterlily"), Version 2 uses about 100 yds. of a bulky hand-spun mohair blend, and Version 3 calls for about 60-70 yds. of bulky yarn for the strap. Decorative buttons are optional for Versions 2 and 3, and Version 1 uses 1 large button at the front.
Needles: Version 1: U.S. 13 (24" circular recommended) and 9. Versions 2 and 3: U.S. 13 24" circular needle and U.S. 11 needle (or appropriate needle for your contrast yarn).
